Pick one of the following prompts to answer for your blog today:
  • In chapter 10, we get to see how the Igbo people carry out justice at a hearing. How is their idea of a “hearing” similar and different from our idea of a court? You should provide specific examples (try to think of media examples where you’ve seen court scenes).

  • In chapter 11, Achebe includes the story of the tortoise. What was the moral of this story? Why would Achebe include this story here? What are some fables that we have in our culture? How are they similar? Different?

  • In chapter 12, we witness the uri ceremony for Obierika’s daughter. What do you think of the Igbo traditions for wedding ceremonies? What are some wedding traditions that we have that are similar? What are some differences?
